A man has died while he was diving in Xatt l-Ahmar, Ghajnsielem, Gozo, on Friday evening, the police said.
The police said it was informed that a man had found himself in difficulty while diving at around 6.15pm.
The diver, aged 67, from Germany, was taken on land by other bathers who were in the vicinity.
Medical assistance was provided but the man was certified dead on site.
Magistrate Brigitte Sultana is leading an inquiry.
