The Professionals Forum within the Nationalist Party said that it is concerned about the situation in the country, "a situation that can only be described as a national crisis that is impacting every sector."

"Instability in energy provision is having a direct impact on the quality of life of each and every one of us. A situation where one become anxious and concerned about whether another night without rest due to no electricity is coming."

The Forum said that this is impacting peoples ability to work well, due to lack of rest and enormous anxiety.

"It is clear that the Labour Government failed at planning."

"How could you otherwise understand the energy crisis? How could you otherwise underswand the health crisis at Mater Dei despite the work by medical professionals to offer the best service?"

"What is happening in the energy sector is only a symptom of Robert Abela's government, a government without a plan that left everything up to chance, and left the country delve into a national crisis."

In the context of all this, it is a mystery that Robert Abela persists in pretending that everything is fine and that he refuses all calls for the country to start addressing problems today rather than tomorrow, as many are requesting. The least thing the government can do is to accept a meeting with MCESD and call an urgent meeting of Parliament. The national interest should override any plans for an extended vacation."
