Gzira succumbed to a 2-1 defeat against Dudelange on Wednesday but their 2-0 victory in the first round enabled them to qualify for the third qualifying round of the Conference League on a 3-2 aggregate.

This is the second time in a row that Darren Abdilla's team has advanced to the third qualifying round.

Samir Hadji gave Dudelange the lead seven minutes before the end of the first half, and six minutes from time, he made it 2-0.

But with three minutes left, and with extra-time looming, Gzira closed the gap to 2-1 and advanced to the next round thanks to a Jose Wilkson Teixeira goal.
