The widow of general practitioner Mario Rizzo Naudi will be getting the results of the magisterial inquiry into her husband’s death after speaking to the media.
Doriette Rizzo Naudi shared her story with The Malta Independent on Sunday, speaking of how her husband’s death had raised one suspicion after another.
A magisterial inquiry was appointed into Mario’s death four months ago. It was concluded roughly two months ago, yet the magistrate in question, Donatella Frendo Dimech, decided to withhold the conclusions from the family.
After her story went public last Sunday, the Attorney General has now told the family that the proces-verbal, which lists the findings of the inquiry, will be handed over. Through her lawyer, the AG's office approved her request. The Office asked for a fee amounting to €72.21 to be able to collect the true copy of the proces-verbal.
On Monday, Doriette told The Malta Independent that she had been informed that the matter was being "given attention" by the AG and, a day later, the family was informed that the decision had been taken to provide the conclusions of the inquiry to the family.
Mario, 70 years old at the tuime of his death, had been found limp in his home with a pool of blood in the garage. He was taken to hospital, sent home after nearly a week, but re-admitted a day later. He died while undergoing surgery.
