Police inspections related to irregular immigration and enforcement have intensified, as 15 more individuals have been found living in Malta irregularly.
In a statement, the police said that work is ongoing to ensure that individuals who are not in the country by law do not remain in Malta.
Early Saturday morning the police, assisted by officials from the Detention Services continued with inspections in the areas of Pembroke, Paceville, and St. Julian's.
A number of inspections were also carried out at construction sites.
15 individuals were found to be living irregularly early on Saturday. The nationalities of the apprehended individuals vary and include Bosnia, Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Serbia, and Georgia, among others.
They were taken to the detention centre to begin the repatriation process.
"This effort is part of regular inspections taking place in different localities, and they will continue to be strengthened in the coming days," the statement read.
