A man has lost his life in Sliema, the police said in a statement on Sunday.
At 1pm the police were informed that their assistance was needed at the Qui-Si-Sana shore area. A man, whose identity is not yet known, found himself in difficulty at sea. He was given first aid by a medical team and an ambulance took him to Mater Dei Hospital. Unfortunately the man was certified as dead soon after.
Magistrate Noel Bartolo is leading an inquiry. Investigations are ongoing.
