The government should increase waste collection services, not tell people to freeze their waste, Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech said.

He was referring to a suggestion made by WasteServe CEO Richard Bilocca for people to put their organic waste in the freezer so as to eliminate bad smells.

If Robert Abela’s government wants to address the waste problem then it should see that collection services are increased, Grech said.

It is surreal that suggestions are being made for waste to be frozen, he added in a message on social media.

The waste problem was another of the government’s failures, Grech said.
