An elderly motorcyclist was injured in a traffic accident on Tuesday morning in Qormi, police said.

The motorcyclist – a 77-year-old man from Siggiewi – was riding his Kymco scooter when he was involved in an accident with a Toyota Vitz being driven by a 37-year-old from Qormi.

The accident happened at around 9am in Triq il-Belt Valletta in Qormi.

The motorcyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from grievous injuries.

Police said that its investigations are ongoing.
