A fire in a Zurrieq garage early this morning was contained by members of the Civil Protection Department.

The department on its Facebook page said that at around 4:20 am this morning, Civil Protection Malta received a report of black smoke emerging from an underground garage in Zurrieq.

Firefighters from Hal Far and Kordin Fire stations were dispatched and gained control of the fire. The fire has been extinguished and the situation is back to normal. Civil Protection Malta Director of operations Anthony Pisani led the operation.
