The Admission Regulations for Church Schools in Malta and Gozo for the scholastic year 2024‑2025 have been published on the website of the Archdiocese of Malta, a Curia statement read.

"There will be a total of 1,790 vacant places for students (1,538 in Malta and 252 in Gozo). All applications will be accepted online. Applications for 'Criteria 1' for Malta and Gozo are to be submitted between the 21st and 30th November 2023. 'Late applications' will be accepted between the 7th and 14th December. Applications for 'Other Applicants' can be submitted between the 1st and 14th February 2024. 'Late applications' will be accepted between the 20th and 29th  February. The list of required documents, application dates and other information is provided in the regulations which will be available online," a Curia statement read.

The admission process for Church schools in Malta determines admission at first‑year and second‑year kindergarten, first‑year primary and first‑year secondary, it said. "Applications under 'Criteria 1' in Malta include children who are in Church homes, children of Church school employees and of the Secretariat for Catholic Education, siblings of students at the same school, transfer from other schools of the same religious congregation, and students attending Church schools without continuity."

A number of places will also be allocated to children considered to be serious cases, and for which specific regulations apply, the Curia said. "Serious cases include students who have or will require the support of an LSE, social cases, and children who are seeking asylum. Serious cases follow a parallel process to the other applications."

The admission process for Church schools in Gozo determines admission at first‑year kindergarten and first‑year secondary. "Applications under 'Criteria 1' for schools in Gozo include students who are in Year 6 in Church Schools in Gozo, children of employees in Church schools, siblings of students at the same school, social cases, children who are seeking asylum, applicants from Għasri, and applicants for St Francis Nadur Kindergarten. These applicants can be both mainstream as well as applicants with the support of an LSE."
