Around 25,000 private sector and self-employed workers who work atypical hours will receiv a €150 cheque in the mail, the government said.

"Workers and self-employed who work shifts, at the end of the week or after 6pm, whose income does not exceed €20,000 a year, benefit from this benefit," the government said. The first people to receive the cheque will do so on Monday.

The government said that this benefit was introduced in the 2022 Budget. "This cheque is given to both full-time workers and part-time workers of whom this is their primary job."

Those who work in the accommodation and food-services sector, administrative and support sector, manufacturing, transport and storage sectors, wholesale and retail sectors are eligible. The beneficiaries would have had to be working with the same enterprise for at least six months during 2022. For more information, one can call 153.
