Hibernians and Mosta were the protagonists of a goalless draw in a drab match with actions being at a premium. Neither team lived up to expectations, a point apiece which practically didn’t help any of the teams in their quest to climb up in a more healthy position.
In fact this was an important match for both teams with Hibernians and Mosta in dire need of points.
To date Hibernians have passed through a roller coaster season but have registered three wins from their last four matches.
Mosta on the other hand have lost their last three matches and are holding on the eleventh place which means the last relegation spot since this season four teams iwll be relegated.
The last time that these two teams met was way back in January, a match from season 2022/23 with Hibernians registering a 2‐0 win.
The match lacked goalmouth action all throughout and in the first forty five minutes it was only Hibernians who went near when on ten minutes a Giannis Bastianos free‐kick sailed just over the bar.
For the rest of the first half play was restricted to the midfield sector and neither team threat‐ ened.
On 57 minutes David Akpan turned onto a corner a Jurgen Degabriele free‐kick, And four minutes from the end of the match Akpan was once again in the thick of action when a Rod‐ ney Antwi shot was tipped into a corner by Akpan. And from the resultant corner a Kurt Shaw conclusion just missed the target.
