A 37-year-old man from Birzebbuga and a 29-year-old woman from Cospicua were arrested after allegedly stealing items from a vehicle in Marsa, the police said.

At 8pm on Friday, a 32-year-old man from Birkirkara filed a report with the police saying that, some time earlier while he was on Triq is-Salib in Marsa, he was approached by a man and a woman, the latter of whom asked him for money. The police said that the woman entered his car and stole his wallet, while the man she was with kicked the car, and the two fled the scene. The police began searching for the two suspects. The woman was found and arrested on Triq is-Sajjied, and the man was arrested later in a shop close by, the police said.

Investigations are ongoing.
