Preparations for the feast of St Paul's Shipwreck well under way

All is in place for the celebration of the feast of St Paul's Shipwreck, which will take place in Valletta on Saturday 24th February, the Għaqda tal-Pawlini has said.

"Għaqda tal-Pawlini together with the Collegiate Chapter of St Paul's Shipwreck of Valletta, have prepared a programme of activities, that form part of the patronal festivities, which are expected to reach their climax this Saturday. On Wednesday 21st February at 8:30 pm, festivities shall commence with an evening of light music, organised by Għaqda tal-Pawlini in collaboration with the Soċietà Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette in Republic St."

"On Thursday 22nd February, the last day of the Triduum, at 7pm, a band march with the statue of St Paul shall commence from Republic St, accompanied by the Għaqda Mużikali Sant'Elena of Birkirkara. On Friday 23 February, on the eve of the feast, at 7:30pm, the traditional festa's eve march, with the participation of the Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette shall commence from Republic St. On feast day, Saturday 24th February at 9:30 am, H.E. Mons. Charles J. Scicluna, Archbishop of Malta will celebrate Pontifical Mass in the Collegiate Church of St Paul, in the presence of the nation's highest authorities. At 12:45, the traditional Marċ tas-Siegħa will be organised by the Għaqda tal-Pawlini with the particiption of the Società Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette."

"The climax of the feast will be reached at 5:30pm, with the Sinodal Procession which will be accompanied by the Soċjetà San Pawl Banda Konti Ruġġieru of Rabat together with the Għaqda Mużikali Beland of Żejtun."
