Over 1,500 companies declared a profit of over €1 million in 2022 according to data tabled in Parliament on Wednesday.

Nationalist Party MP Jerome Caruana Cilia asked Finance and Employment Minister Clyde Caruana how many companies declared a profit of over €100,000, over €500,000, and over €1 million in the year 2022.

Minister Caruana answered that the number of companies which registered profits in the respective parameters after tax in the year 2022 were 2,768 companies with a profit of over €100,000, 745 companies with a profit of over €500,000, and 1,531 companies with a profit of over €1 million.

Caruana said that these numbers are based on companies which presented their tax declaration for the year 2022, according to their year-end.
