The beautification project of a Nadur Belvedere overlooking San Blas was inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri. The project was financed with €61,000 through the Development Planning Fund of the Planning Authority.

Minister Camilleri said that it was gratifying to inaugurate the beautification project, which he said was another project which the Nadur Local Council was able to carry out through the funds it received from the Development Planning Fund which was established in 2017. He said that this fund has financed a large number of community projects around the Maltese islands.

He said that the Nadur Local Council has been able to carry out a number of projects throughout these last years which were financed through the Development Planning Fund. These projects, he continued, were carried out in different areas of Nadur.

Speaking further on projects which have benefited from the Development Planning Fund, he said that some of these projects in recent years include the beautification of playing fields and open spaces, restoration and regeneration of old properties for community facilities, energy-saving street lighting, as well as the installation of outdoor gyms, along with other projects. He said that the proposed projects would be able to receive up to a maximum of 70% of the total cost of the project.

Camilleri concluded by thanking those who worked on the project and said that he looks forward to seeing more local councils continue to benefit from the fund and enact projects which the communities and visitors can enjoy and experience.

Nadur Mayor Edward Said and Zaffarena Etnea Mayor Salvatore Russo were also present for the inauguration.
