Independent candidate Arnold Cassola has written to the office of the ombudsman to investigate after a Labour Party MEP candidate uploaded photos of him visiting a school.
In his letter, Cassola asks the ombudsman to investigate the partisan behaviour of Education Minister Clifton Grima who, on the one hand says that political visits are not allowed in schools, but then Labour candidates are allowed to do so.
He was referring to the visit made by Labour MEP candidate Thomas Bajada at the Xewkija school, photos of which were uploaded on Facebook by the school.
Cassola wrote that Labour candidates are visiting schools and being allowed to speak to staff members and enter classrooms.
This is a partisan behaviour that favours Labour candidates, Cassola charged, saying that staff and children should not be used for partisan activities.
This is unacceptable, Cassola said.
