Life Network Foundation and Doctors for Life have written formally to the Prime Minister of Malta.

The two NGOs are urging the Maltese Government to make a clear statement that with full respect for the principle of subsidiarity and with respect for the Treaty of Accession of Malta to the European Union of 2004, where the right is reserved that, regardless of what the Treaties say, the matter of abortion will always remain a matter to be decided by Malta and its institutions and no one else.

The Maltese Government on behalf of our country should declare that it is not in favour of the inclusion of Abortion as a right in the Charter of Human Rights of the European Union, following the recent Resolution on this matter, approved by European Parliament, the NGOs said.

Thus mothers and unborn babies in our country and our sovereignty will continue to be protected.
