The strong winds are wreaking havoc across the Maltese Islands, endangering pedestrians and drivers.

A tree has collapsed onto the road in Labour Avenue Naxxar, bringing traffic to a standstill.

A billboard has in the meantime toppled over on St Andrew's Road, northbound side, again causing traffic problems.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution.

Needless to say, the strong winds have once again exposed how dirty Malta is - flying objects ranging from carton boxes, plastic items and other material are dotting our streets.
