Independent MEP candidate Arnold Cassola has said that he was informed by Dr Emmy Bezzina that the "Broadcasting Authority's Election Candidates' Directives are impeding SMASH" from bringing candidates like him onto his programme.

"Hence your May 8th slot in Kulhadd Jghid Tieghu with Emmy Bezzina has had to be cancelled. Sorry," Cassola quoted Dr Bezzina's team as saying.

 Arnold Cassola said that "the Broadcasting Authority's continuous discrimination against me is simply appalling. I now expect the European Parliament office in Malta to come out full guns blazing against this blatant discrimination, as it rightly did when Roberta Metsola was discriminated against".
