If we really want to do good for our fellow man, let’s see that we do the best we can by doing our part and donating blood, a noble gesture with which we help those who really need it, Anglu Farrugia, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, said Friday.

Farrugia was speaking outside of the Parliament building in front of a mobile blood transfusion centre set up by the National Blood Transfusion Service in collaboration with the Speaker’s Office and the Department of Social Security.

Farrugia praised the initiative taken by the employees of the entities involved, who he said work together to ensure that this activity is maintained each year.

The Speaker reiterated that this gesture is an act of charity with unique value, as blood donations are a continuous need. He called for the public to attend and donate blood today, utilising the mobile transfusion centre outside of the Parliament building in Valletta.

Present at the press conference were the Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights Michael Falzon, Opposition Whip Robert Cutajar, and Government Whip Naomi Cachia. They were also joined by PN MPs Ivan Castillo and Paula Mifsud Bonnici.
