Beppe Grillo, Malta’s last representative at the Paris Olympics failed to make it to the first round of the 100m on Saturday.

Grillo took part in heat no 6 of the preliminary round and could only finish fifth in his heat clocking 10.69.

Only the first two from each heat and the best four timings of the third placed qualified for the first round.

Beppe Grillo finished in 24th place from 47 athletes in these preliminary rounds.

Malta’s participation in the Paris Games is thus completed. Malta was represented by Katryna Esposito in the judo ‐48kg, by Gianluca Chetcuti in the trap competition, Sasha Gatt and Kyle Micallef in swim‐ ming and Beppe Grillo in athletics.
