Monday, 12 August 2024, 11:35 Last update: about 3 years ago

George Gregory has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Malta Enterprise, the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise, and Strategic Project announced on Monday morning. Gregory will be taking over the role from his predecessor Kurt Farrugia, who was recently appointed as the CEO of Transport Malta.

Gregory is currently the Managing Partner of RSM Malta. The Ministry said that Gregory will begin occupying the position with effect from the 9th of September 2024 and that the process has already started for Gregory to end his involvement with RSM Malta.

The Ministry said that Gregory has more than thirty years of professional experience, having served in a partner role in top-tier firms apart from RSM. It continued that he has led “numerous high-profile engagements” throughout his career, “including acquisitions, restructuring, and roles in strategic advisory”. It added that Gregory is an accounting graduate with ACCA qualifications.

Economy Minister Silvio Schembri said that “this is a very important time for Malta Enterprise” and that Malta “must continue to strongly implement our strategy to attract high-value activity to our country” which does not require many workers or land from which to operate. “This way, we ensure sustainable and beneficial economic growth for everyone,” Schembri added.

The Ministry concluded that it looks forward to Gregory’s valuable contribution in Malta Enterprise’s management and the country’s economic development.
