For the first time in its history, the Vilhena Philharmonic Band of Floriana will be executing a musical programme at the Manoel Theatre, Valletta, the band said.

"This programme titled '150 Anniversarju: Kunċert Strumentali mill-Banda Vilhena' is being held on the occasion of the 150th anniversary since the founding of the Philharmonic Band back in 1874. The venue in which this programme shall be executed is significant due to the fact that the Manoel Theatre is named after the Grandmaster de Vilhena, the same Grandmaster afterwhich the Philharmonic Band is named."

"The programme shall be executed under the batton of the musical director of the Philharmonic Band, Mro. George Debono, along with the bandsmen, the Amadeus Chamber Choir and tenor Brian Cefai, with the presentation being done by Mr. and Mrs. George and Elisa Cassar. The programme consists of a mixed variety of musical pieces from renowned classic composers, other more contemporary ones as well as pieces which belong solely to the Vilhena Philharmonic.
