Just like Santa, #ChooseLocal artisanal gifts

Sunday, 1 December 2024, 11:01 Last update: about 3 months ago

Santa this year has decided to #ChooseLocal, visiting the artisan villages in Ta' Qali and Ta' Dbieġi to stock up on some amazing gifts. And, just like Santa, you should also choose local and find the perfect gifts for your loved ones from the talented local artisans.

To give you an extra incentive, the Malta Crafts Foundation is giving away two €200 vouchers - one redeemable at the artisans located within the Ta' Qali Artisan Village, the other redeemable from those at Ta' Dbieġi in Gozo - through its Celebrity Santa Competition.

Taking part is very easy.

Visit the Malta Crafts Foundation's social media pages on Facebook and/or Instagram, find the videos in which Santa was caught red handed while seeking the perfect gifts at the artisan villages, and name/tag the celebrities you think might be behind Santa's white beard in the comments under the videos.

There are actually two different celebrities dressed up as Santa - one in Ta' Qali, and the other in Ta' Dbieġi - so that's double the chance for you to get one of those €200 vouchers!

All those who guess correctly at least one of the celebrities will enter the respective draw to determine the winners of the competition on December 18th. Other terms and conditions also apply.

So go ahead and start tagging now!

The #ChooseLocal campaign - which is also being supported by the Commerce Department within the Ministry for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects - is part of the Malta Crafts Foundation's efforts to generate awareness about the very talented local artisans, whose creations would make perfect gifts for your loved ones.

Santa's Workshop at the Ta' Dbieġi Artisan Village

The Christmas-themed initiatives also include the yearly event at the Ta' Dbieġi Artisan Village in Gozo, which this year is being held on Saturday, December 14th between 10:00h and 16:00h - a day full of fun, artisanal products, gifts, and surprises!

Get to the village in style aboard Santa's Express, which will be offering free rides from Victoria to Ta' Dbieġi; be a busy elf yourself and join a creative session with our master artisans to create your own gifts, with some sessions being provided for free; and complete a treasure hunt around the village for a chance to win a €100 voucher that will help you stock up your Christmas gifts!

And apart from the activities, games, and Christmas Characters that fill up the village every year, Sarah Bonnici - who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 earlier this year - will be visiting the village at around noon for a Meet & Greet session with her fans! So make sure you are there to get your picture taken with Sarah, and with Santa too of course!
