The driver of a car can count themselves lucky after escaping unscathed from their car when it overturned and caught fire.

Police said that the accident happened at around 5:30pm in Manikata and the driver was the only person involved.

In the accident, the car overturned and then caught fire.  Ambulances and members of the Civil Protection Department were on site, but the driver managed to escape without assistance.

Police said that the driver appeared uninjured and it was unlikely that they would be hospitalised as a result of the accident.
