eCabs on Monday announced it has extended its logistical partnership with L-Istrina, the annual 12-hour telethon dedicated to raising essential funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
Every Boxing Day, the L-Istrina event raises millions of Euro for charity and sees celebrities, politicians and hundreds of volunteers come together to encourage donations to the cause.
In a statement, eCabs said that this year it would provide 30 vehicles and drivers, up from 20 the previous year.
The vehicles, all specially rebranded for the month of December to raise awareness of the telethon, are used to support the collection of financial pledges from businesses and individuals across the island.
A dedicated team of four eCabs staff will also assist in managing logistics on the day.
Fastdrop, a specialised delivery service provider and part of the eCabs group of businesses, will also contribute vehicles and staff to this initiative.
These efforts reflect the group's ongoing commitment to community support and social causes.
Mark Mizzi, Head of Finance & Operations at the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, expressed gratitude for eCabs' continued partnership, emphasising the importance of collaboration in ensuring the event's success.
On his part, Luke Spiteri, Head of Operations at eCabs Malta, highlighted the company's pride in supporting L-Istrina, calling it a "national effort that unites and uplifts the entire community."
Beyond the 12-hour telethon on Boxing Day, eCabs and Fastdrop will also be extending their support for L-Istrina throughout the week, providing logistical assistance in the collection of funds pledged during and after the event.
The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation thanked eCabs and Fastdrop for their contribution.
