During a meeting of the Executive Committee held last night, the Partit Nazzjonalista approved another group of eight candidates for the upcoming general election.
The approved candidates are:
- James Aaron Ellul for the First District
- Errol Cutajar for the Third District
- Leone Sciberras for the Third District
- George Muscat for the Eighth District
- David Pace Ross for the Eighth District
- Noel Muscat for the Ninth District
- Charles Selvaggi for the Ninth District
- Joseph Grech for the Eleventh District
During the meeting, Partit Nazzjonalista leader Bernard Grech expressed his gratitude to these approved candidates, as well as to others who have already shown interest in being part of the Partit Nazzjonalista's team for the general election and who will be approved in the coming weeks and months.
Yesterday's approval of candidates is a continuation of the process that began towards the end of last year, when the first group of new candidates for the next general election was approved. This process is set to lead to the PN approving all candidates who will be contesting the next election under its name.
During yesterday's Executive Committee meeting, and at the request of the current Secretary General, Michael Piccinino, the process was also initiated for the election of a new Secretary General for the PN. This internal election will be conducted by the Partit Nazzjonalista's internal electoral commission.
