Watch: Ask Minister Camilleri why AFM brigadier still suspended, Deputy PM says

Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg told journalists to ask Home Minister Byron Camilleri why the Armed Forces Commander is still suspended.

Brigadier Clinton O'Neill was suspended from his post after 200 kilogrammes of cannabis were stolen from an AFM compound last Sunday. The minister himself offered his resignation but this was not accepted by the Prime Minister, with the Cabinet expressing their full support.

Asked why O'Neill is still suspended, Borg said that the question should be put to Minister Camilleri.

Borg praised the work of the police saying that eight people have been arrested and part of the haul had already been recovered.

He said it is ironic and hypocritical that the Nationalist Party first attacks the AFM and the police and then its MPs stand up in Parliament to thank them.
