The Foundation for Social Welfare Services (FSWS) has launched a new campaign to continue its promotion of fostering children around the country.
In light of the successes recorded in recent years, the FSWS felt the need to continue encouraging families to welcome children, so that these children can grow up in a positive environment, and be embraced with love, empathy and affection.
The Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights, Michael Falzon, said that there are currently more than 50 boys and girls who can be fostered. Additionally, 273 children were fostered throughout 2024.
54% of all children in alternative care are currently in fostering.
“Our goal is to reintegrate children with their biological parents, if this is in the best interest of the minor. In the event that this is not possible, fostering offers care and a permanent plan,” Minister Falzon said.
