Nobody was injured when a balcony collapsed in Qawra early on Monday morning, the police said.

The accident took place in Triq l-Imrejkba.

The balcony which collapsed is on the third floor, with debris falling onto balconies at lower levels, the terrace of a bar and the street below.

The police did not have information as to whether the building is inhabited.

In a statement, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority and Building and Construction Authority said they are investigating the case, adding that the building was constructed in the 1980s and is next to a site where development is taking place.
