President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono, Prime Minister Robert Abela and representative of the Leader of the Opposition David Agius participated in a wreath-laying ceremony on the occasion of Freedom Day.
The ceremony was held at the monument dedicated to Freedom Day in Vittoriosa.
British military presence in Malta ended on 31 March, 1979.
