A motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries after he was involved in a traffic accident on Sunday morning.

Police said that the accident happened at 8:30am in Triq iż-Żagħfran in Attard and involved a Toyota Passo being driven by a 19-year-old woman from Birkirkara and a Kawasaki motorcycle being ridden by a 31-year-old man, also from Birkirkara.

A medical team was called on site and the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry while police investigations are also ongoing.
