This programme was described by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth as being an investment in young people and in Malta’s future. It is hoped that through this and other similar initiatives, youths will be equipped with knowledge and skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

The programme offers free training from professional youth workers and participants will receive a certificate of participation that is recognised under the Secondary School Certificate and Profiling certification.

The activities within Life Skills Lab 2025 will take place in several localities, including Santa Venera, Għajnsielem, Msida, Qawra, and MCAST Paola.

During this launch, the Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, said that the Summer 2025 Life Skills Lab “is a testament to our strong commitment to offer spaces where our youth can actively learn, be nurtured as leaders, and can develop essential skills for today’s society.”

“This is not just a programme of activities – it is a platform for personal and social growth that will surely leave a long-term impact,” PS Azzopardi Tanti said.

The CEO of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Miriam Teuma, remarked that this programme places youths at the centre of a learning experience that combines practice with values.

“The Life Skills Lab is built on the values of inclusion, diversity, and respect,” she said, “It is a safe and creative space that encourages young people to express their potential, discover new talents, and contribute positively to their communities.”

This year’s programme will include seven new clubs which are all designed to promote youths’ creativity, such as the Young Kitchen Club, Earth 112, and the Music Beat Club.
