Runway operations resume following incident involving a light aircraft, MIA says

Malta International Airport (MIA) confirms that runway operations resumed at 17:33hrs local time following an earlier incident involving a light aircraft.

MIA said that at approximately 5pm, a light aircraft (TECNAM P2002S with registration FH-UBK) was involved in an incident on the airfield at Malta International Airport.

Malta International Airport said that first responders were immediately on site, and that no injuries were reported. It said that an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway. All runways had been temporarily closed as a precaution while the aircraft was being safely cleared, it had said.
