The next Budget will be a generous one, Prime Minister Robert Abela said.
In a meeting with the newly appointed board of the Chamber of Commerce, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that the cordial meetings and joint efforts that have taken place over the past years will continue with the Chamber's new team.
During the meeting at Castille on Wednesday, Abela spoke about the positive outlook for Malta's economy and the strong sentiment among the Maltese business community.
He mentioned that the upcoming Budget will once again be a generous one, aligned with the core principles of Malta's Vision 2050, namely sustainable economic growth, citizen-focused services, resilience, modern education, and the intelligent use of land and sea.
The new President of the Chamber of Commerce William Spiteri Bailey also spoke about the Malta Vision 2050, noting that significant preparatory work had already been done with the government on this 25-year vision.
Similar preparations were also made on other reforms such as the Malta Labour Migration Policy and the introduction of miscarriage leave, he said.
Both sides also discussed a number of other topics, including tax harmonisation and various other elements aimed at attracting companies to Malta.
Also present at the meeting were Ministers Byron Camilleri, Miriam Dalli, and Clyde Caruana, Principal Permanent Secretary Tony Sultana, as well as the Head of the Secretariat at the Office of the Prime Minister Colonel Mark Mallia.
