A woman was seriously injured in Floriana, after being hit by a vehicle.

At around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, the Police were informed of a traffic accident at Xatt Pinto, Floriana.

The Police went to the scene, and from preliminary investigations, it emerged that a 57-year-old German woman was hit by a Toyota Ractis driven by a 52-year-old man who resides in Żabbar.

A medical team was called to the scene, and an ambulance took the woman to Mater Dei Hospital. She was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici appointed an inquiry, while police investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
