Firefighters fought an industrial fire at a factory in Qormi, Civil Protection Malta said on Monday at around 3.30pm, adding that the fire was localised and extinguished but that officers remained on site in order to monitor the situation.

Civil Protection Malta said on social media that 100,000 litres of water and 5,000 litres of foam were utilised to deal with the fire, adding that 35 firefighters and 5 senior CPD officers were present.

It concluded by thanking the Malta Police Force, Transport Malta, St John Ambulance & Rescue Malta, the Emergency Fire & Rescue Unit, as well as the Mater Dei Emergency Department and the public for their cooperation during the operation.
