If an election were held today, Labour would win by 25,000 votes, a survey carried out by statistician Vince Marmara showed.

A new political survey - the first since Alex Borg became leader of the Nationalist Party - shows Labour maintaining a significant lead over its rivals.

When asked how they would vote if a general election were held tomorrow, 43.9% of respondents said they would support the Labour Party, 37.0% the Nationalist Party, 2.2% ADPD, 1.0% other parties, while 15.9% remained undecided.

Researchers then applied a scientific model known as the Multiple Imputation Technique, which estimates the voting intentions of those who refused to answer or who are undecided. Using this method, the adjusted results suggest Labour would secure 51.7% of the vote, the Nationalist Party 43.2%, ADPD 3.5%, and other parties 1.6%.

Assuming that valid votes amount to around 83% of the electorate, this would translate into a gap of roughly 25,000 votes in Labour's favour.

The survey was carried out via telephone and mobile interviews between September 25 and October 1, with a sample of 1,200 people aged 16 and over. It has a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of +/- 2.8%. The sample was carefully weighted to reflect demographics such as age, district, gender, and voting patterns in the 2022 general election.
