Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is currently in Malta for the filming of Road House 2, another major production that has chosen Malta as its shooting location, the government said in a statement.

"Directed by Ilya Naishuller, this is the second film in the franchise and the first to be shot in Malta through the cash rebate programme. Filming for Road House 2 will take place across various locations around Malta, including the iconic streets of Valletta, the Maritime Museum, and Fort Ricasoli."

The Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, together with Film Commissioner Johann Grech, visited the set of Road House 2. Minister Owen Bonnici stated:"This production is clear proof of the Film Commission's ongoing commitment to attract more international-level productions to our country. This commitment is not only creating more jobs for our talented Maltese workers but also offering training and specialization opportunities for local crews, while strengthening the economy and delivering direct benefits."
