A €45 million social housing project comprising of 267 apartments and around 300 garages and parking spaces is progressing in Ħal Farruġ, the Housing Ministry said on Wednesday.

The project, covering an area of approximately 10,000 square metres, represents an expenditure of around €45 million and will include one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, alongside approximately 300 garages and parking spaces.

During the visit, Housing Minister Owen Bonnici closely monitored the progress made on this project, which further strengthens investment in quality housing and offers vulnerable families more opportunities to secure a safe roof over their heads and a home that affords them dignity.

"A home is not merely four walls. It represents security, stability, and the place where a family builds its life. Therefore, an investment of this magnitude is a direct investment in families and their future," Bonnici said.

The project is part of ongoing efforts to create quality residential spaces that meet the needs of families and the community, ensuring that more vulnerable families receive the assistance they require.

Present at the visit were Permanent Secretary Ramon Deguara, Malita CEO Marlene Attard, Housing Authority Chairman Robert Ducker, Housing Authority CEO Matthew Zerafa, Luqa Mayor John Schembri, and members of the Luqa Local Council.
