Several days of police investigations and surveillance related to suspicious activities between Malta and Gozo led to the arrest of a 45-year-old Croatian man following the discovery of 76 kilogrammes of a substance suspected to be cocaine, with an estimated market value of around €9 million.

On Tuesday, police stopped a vehicle at the Mġarr Harbour in Gozo. A search of the vehicle revealed 18 kilogrammes of the suspected cocaine, the police said Thursday.

Searches continued at the residence of the arrested man in Xagħra, where another 58 kilogrammes of the suspected cocaine were found, along with several vehicle license plates.
