Prime Minister Robert Abela met with owners of local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to showcase how Maltese businesses are driving economic growth, creating jobs, and fostering innovation, the goverrment said Saturday.

The government said is committed to supporting businesses and ensuring job security.

Accompanied at the Ta' Qali Crafts Village by Economy Minister Silvio Schembri and INDIS Malta CEO Jean Pierre Attard, the Prime Minister praised the dedication and vision of these business owners, who have managed to grow their companies with determination and creativity, even during challenging times such as the pandemic.

The companies visited - Can You Escape Malta, Julianne Marie Kreattiva Designs, and Gemelli Ltd - all benefit from Malta Enterprise schemes and INDIS Malta incentives.

The statement said that they exemplify how Maltese SMEs are driving job creation and contributing to sustainable economic growth.

'Can You Escape Malta,' founded by two university students, has grown from a small project into a full tourist attraction, now operating five themed escape rooms and employing several staff members.

The company has become a model for how creativity and immersive experiences can be turned into a sustainable and successful business, the statement said.

Julianne Marie Kreattiva Designs represents the work of a local artist blending Maltese culture and identity with modern design.

Through original collections of candles, baskets, and artistic clothing, Julianne promotes art that bridges Malta's past with the present, it said.

Gemelli Ltd, established in 1991, is one of the most recognized names in its sector, promoting Maltese art. The company combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to create high-quality products and supports local artists through the Gemelli Art Gallery.

The Prime Minister said that these enterprises demonstrate the potential of Maltese talent when given proper support.

He said that the government will continue to strengthen incentive policies that encourage innovation, creativity, and the creation of quality jobs.

"These stories are concrete proof that government policy is delivering real success. By supporting small businesses and enterprises, we are guaranteeing a future of opportunity," Abela said.

He added that the government remains committed to ensuring that every start-up, family business, and SME in Malta and Gozo receives the support it needs to grow and remain competitive.
