Robert Abela and the Labour Party have once again confirmed that they are in a state of panic and have their backs against the wall, the Nationalist Party said Sunday.

Three days ago, they invented a lie that Nationalist Party leader Alex Borg, had gone to Brussels to somehow push for a debate against Malta's interests in the European institutions.

Yesterday, they repeated this Fake News, despite knowing full well that this debate takes place every year and had already been scheduled long before Alex Borg's visit to Brussels.

Today, the Prime Minister and Labour Leader once again repeated this lie, even going as far as to appeal to the Leader of the Opposition to stop the European Parliament from holding the debate, the PN said.

What Abela failed to mention is that this debate will only take place because it was agreed to by the European Socialists - the group to which the Labour Party belongs, and whose Vice President is none other than Abela's own Deputy Leader, Alex Agius Saliba.

Robert Abela continues to repeat his own lies - lies that today no one believes, except Labour itself, the PN said.

In contrast to Robert Abela and the Labour Party, Alex Borg and the Partit Nazzjonalista remain focused on addressing the real problems faced by Maltese and Gozitan families: the traffic crisis and cost of living, uncontrolled population growth, and environmental destruction - through their work both in Malta and at European level.
