The Ministry for Health and Active Ageing has officially launched Malta's seasonal vaccination campaign.

Three kinds of vaccines will be offered free of charge to those eligible.

This year's seasonal campaign will offer three vaccines to people for free. People over six months in age can take the Influenza vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine. The Influenza vaccine is given annually to target the disease's most prevalent strains. Meanwhile the COVID-19 vaccine is updated for the latest LP 8.1 variant.

Also available is the Pneumococcal 20 vaccine (PCV20) for individuals aged 18 and above. The PCV20 vaccine provides recipients with lifelong protection against serious infections such as pneumonia, meningitis, and sepsis.

The Health Ministry stated that this particular vaccine is crucial to reducing preventable diseases, especially among vulnerable groups like the elderly, people with chronic conditions, pregnant women, and healthcare workers.

Adults can receive their vaccinations at Health Centres across Malta and Gozo, on any day, everyday, between 1pm and 7pm.

Children between the ages of six months and eight years old will be eligible for these vaccinations as of 8 November 2025, with services open to them at the Health Centres in Floriana, Mosta, Paola (Ċensu Moran), and Rabat, Gozo.

Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela urged the public to make full use of this initiative, stating that "vaccination is an important step we can all take to protect ourselves and those we love."

"I encourage everyone to visit their nearest health centre or family doctor and benefit from this important public health initiative," Minister Abela said.
