Fire crews and heavy equipment are still active in the Marsa area where a fire developed in a scrapyard in Marsa yesterday, the Civil Protection Department said Saturday.

Reduce speed, keep lanes clear, and remain alert at all times, the Civil Protection Department said on its Facebook page announcing that Garibaldi Road is now open in both directions.

The fire has been contained; however, firefighting operations are still in progress. The public is advised to avoid the area due to safety concerns and ongoing emergency response activities, the CPD said.
