Over the coming weeks, works will commence on seven residential alleys in Gharghur, the government said.

The government said that through this initiative it is showing that it not only listens to residents and local councils, but delivers infrastructural projects to "transform the heart of our communities into more attractive and safer environments."

Għargħur mayor Mariah Meli said that these works are emerging from ongoing, active dialogue with Għargħur residents. She added that the Public Works Department has shown "full synergy" leading up to this announcement.
