Michele Tufigno is a creative director and researcher. After reading law at the University of Malta, he founded Michele Tufigno - a Valletta-based consultancy focused on interior decoration, arts, publishing, and contemporary curation. His work spans private residences, public buildings, and editorial contributions to both local and international publications.

Michele is always brimming with ideas. His latest? "Join me on Saturday 29 November for some festive shopping - done my way, of course."

From 10am onwards, he'll be welcoming guests to the Casino Notabile in Saqqajja. Expect a treasure trove: mercury glass baubles, handwoven Uzbek velvet cushions, mink fur headbands, and lapis lazuli cups (perfect for sipping Diet Coke in style). And yes - there will be lamps. Gorgeous lamps.

And vintage jewellery including fabulous earrings.

"There's nothing minimalist about Maltese women - so why should their jewellery be?"

On his travels, Michele sourced a dazzling collection of unworn Spanish costume jewellery. "They add glamour and zing to the dreary winter months. Throw in a pair of lavender mink mittens while you're at it. Why not?"

She knew a thing or two about sparkle.

For Michele, a home is a journey - real and imagined.
"My selection of marbles, corals, and precious little objects brings jolts of beauty to everyday life. Create your own cabinet of curiosities."

He's not one for glittered baubles or fake snow.

"Christmas, especially here, is about cloved oranges, coral, stars, and candlelight. A golden glow with Mediterranean glamour. And coral? Always a good luck charm."

Plastic? Absolutely not. "Say no to plastic baubles. Say yes to hand-blown glass, mini chinoiserie pagodas, decoupage, papier maché, and the odd Moroccan brass ex-voto - threaded onto plush velvet ribbon."
Pair them with hanging orange slices, origami paper balls, and hand-embroidered bows encrusted with bugle beads, he suggests.

Welcome to Le Bazaar!
