Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri and Minister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela, inaugurated Casa Giuseppe, a new care and retirement home located in the heart of Victoria, Gozo.

This private investment of more than €6.4 million is providing a modern facility that combines the comfort of the elderly with the highest safety standards expected of a residential home, a government statement said Monday.

During his visit, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to tour various sections of the residence, including the residents' rooms, equipped with the latest technology and top-quality amenities. The residence also features a rooftop garden, an open space designed to offer serenity and a connection with nature for the residents. The building itself was constructed with an emphasis on sustainability and includes an area dedicated to mental well-being.

Abela also had the chance to sit and speak with residents in the "Każin" - the common area where the elderly gather for daily organised activities. Here he listened to their experiences and appreciated the atmosphere the home provides.

Casa Giuseppe, which will accommodate 121 people and employ over 90 professionals, is another testament to how the care sector continues to grow, offering personalised, high-quality services that uphold the dignity of the elderly.

Abela stressed that such investments, even from the private sector, are crucial for the Government's vision of a better quality of life for older people.

"Today we are seeing how investment in Gozo is not only creating jobs, but also providing peace of mind and dignity for our elderly. This home is not just a building, but a living community where residents remain active and included in society," the Prime Minister stated. He added that the Government will continue supporting initiatives that put people at the centre of care.
