Ministers Anton Refalo and Clifton Grima launched the fourth edition of the Let's Talk Farming programme while presenting awards to schools that participated in the previous year's edition.

The programme, now a key element of agricultural education in Malta, involved sixty-one schools with approximately eighteen thousand five hundred students, offering practical experiences designed to cultivate appreciation for local produce and sustainable food practices.

Minister Refalo noted that the initiative fulfils another governmental commitment in agricultural education, helping children understand the value of local production, responsible consumption and the role of farmers.

Minister Grima highlighted that the programme enhances classroom learning by exposing students to real-life contexts and assisting them as they consider future career choices.

During the previous edition, participating schools took part in expert talks, sessions from the MCAST Agribusiness Institute, activities on water conservation, planting exercises and visits to the Farmers' Market. Seeds, mulberry trees, ornamental plants and educational materials were distributed.

An investment of fifty thousand euro funded educational visits to programme partners and an additional fifteen thousand euro supported age-appropriate talks.
Thirty-nine schools met the programme standards and received Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze recognition. Two thousand certificates were also presented to educators for their contribution.
The Ministers thanked all participants and confirmed that the programme will continue to grow with new ideas and opportunities in its fourth year.
